Day 15
Well, I did the apple day. I was thrilled the next morning to see that I had dropped 1.7 pounds. But since then the scale has been standing still again, although I have been following the diet perfectly. Ugh! My sisters are here now. Chris starts on her 500 calorie/day diet today. Very excited to see her have good results too. As for me and the scale that just won't move...I am going to continue on with the diet as scheduled and see what happens.

Day 11
Wow, is it really day 11 already? I can't believe it. The past 3 days have been a little frustrating for me. Haven't seen the scale move hardly at all, only lost 0.4 pound for the past two days, and then today I actually had gained 0.1 pound, despite the fact that I am strictly sticking to the diet. I am not totally overwhelmed by that, cause my friend Teri is also doing the diet (she is using the injections under a doctors supervision) and she is a week ahead of us on the diet, and she told me that her weight loss had stalled for a few days. So I sort of expected it, but it is still discouraging. Anyway, for that reason, I did an apple day today. The literature says if your weight loss stalls you can eat 6 apples and only water for a day and that will kick start your weight loss again. I guess we'll see what the scale says in the morning. I sure hope it worked. I only at 5 apples and water today. I calculated that out to be 339 calories for today. Seriously? I better have lost some weight with that!
On a more positive note, I have noticed that since starting this diet I have found it easier to get out of bed in the mornings. I don't feel as tired when I get up in the mornings, which is weird, cause I am getting less sleep.

WEEK 2
So far this diet hasn't been that bad but we are going through withdrawals of our old life. Since we are also sightseeing with family in Oahu the Asian cuisine and Hawaiian delights are everywhere dripping with temptation.
Meredith has struggled with eating all the meat. She says she doesn't eat this much meet. We had broiled talapia with tomatoes and a little salad. I think this week we are going to do more salads and less meat. At least for Meredith.
I would guess I have lost 5 pounds but we don't have a great scale but I do feel like I have lost some. Time will tell.
Yesterday when the car broke down I was so upset and wanted to have a pepsi or coke while I sat to pass the time but I resisted. Stress does increase your want for comfort and that comfort for me and my sis is food. We need to work on replacing food with something else.

Day 7
Okay, still losing weight, down 7 pounds so far. It feels great to be losing weight, but didn't feel so hot this morning when I woke up. Kinda shakey (jittery) and just didn't feel great, but after having my cup of herbal raspberry tea with liquid Stevia, I felt much better and have been able to go about my day without any trouble. Sucks to watch others eating food that looks and smells good, but I am sticking strong to the diet and I am thrilled to see my clothes fitting differently already. I think the B12 and the Bioplasma I am taking are helpful. I find that I am thinking differently about food, which will help when it comes to maintenance, I think. If nothing else, this diet makes you re-evaluate portion sizes, as well as what you eat. I miss my morning coffee with french vanilla creamer or carmel macchiato creamer and sugar! I miss my Starbucks, too, but not enough to ruin all this hard work.

Day 5
Okay, here we are at day 5, which is incidentally, my birthday. I must admit, I would LOVE to go out to dinner tonight for my birthday, or go out and have a Starbucks, or a JambaJuice. Mmmm! But then I think about it and realize, is it really worth it? Perhaps I will take a rain check on a dinner and enjoy that when I am 40 pounds lighter. It's not worth breaking the diet. Stepped on the scale today, and am down 5 pounds! That's a great start. Very encouraging. For the most part, I am not hungry during the day. When I do start to get hungry, it's just about time for me to eat something anyway. I have found that the HCG drops we are using, along with plenty of water and lots of green tea are very satisfying. Started taking sublingual B complex yesterday also. And I am also taking Mag and Potassium cell salts, which were recommended to my by a friend to help prevent leg cramps. One last thing I started new yesterday. I had tried using Stevia in the Raw (a powdered form) and found that it left a nasty aftertaste in my mouth. Yesterday I bought liquid stevia and found that it is much better and leaves no aftertaste. I can't stand artificial sweeteners, but I do like the liquid Stevia.

Day 3
This is Tammie. You may be wondering why I am starting with day 3 instead of day 1. The truth to the matter is, day 1 and day 2 are easy. We are using the HCG homeopathic drops. Day 1 and day 2 you take the drops (10 drops 3 times a day) and eat lots of fattening foods of your choice. Most people don't need a lot of support to make it through those first 2 days! Day 3 is when it becomes more challenging. Today we take the drops and decrease our caloric intake to 500cal/day. So far, so good. For breakfast I had a cup of green tea. For snack 1 small green apple and a bottle of water. Lunch consisted of a chicken breast (which I pulled from the freezer supply of food we prepared last week for our diet) and 1/2 cup of green beans. Oh, and 1 slice of melba toast, Mmmm (just kidding). I still have an afternoon snack of another fruit serving and dinner (100g of lean protein and 1/2 cup of veggies). Not doing too bad so far. A little hungry. Well, not so much hungry, just have a desire for something yummy to eat. I have to admit, I really don't feel hungry at all. I think the water helps, and I am sure the drops are working to help curb the hunger as well. I find the hardest part is when I am preparing meals for the kids, and I have to remember that I can't take just a pinch of this or that. I can't test it to see if it's hot, or if it tastes right. And sometimes, let's face it...kid food smells good! On the up side, I normally wouldn't make the kids green beans for lunch, but because they were part of my meal, they ate some too. Anxious to see what the scale looks like in the morning after the first day of dieting.
Food for thought
This is a weight loss story of three women. Throughout history, women have battled with their weight, trying the latest new diets and fads. We didn't want to be those people, but we wanted to do something that we had seen and heard about for over a year now. Many success stories we have witnessed and have heard about from normal people, not advertisements. We had to see for ourselves, if this could give us the edge we need to eat and live healthy.
Our little group contains 2 nurses and 1 PT Assistant. All of us have a family which include young children. We want a healthy weight that will decrease aches and pains, make us feel good about ourselves and a lifestyle change that encourages a healthy diet.
My name is Anna and I kind of started this all because my sis (Meredith) was coming into town. She had tried to do the diet before but her stressful life could not keep her on track. Tammie, a mom of 6 has taken the time to do lots of research and filling us with information to give us the confidence we are doing the right thing. Meredith, our visitor is the third person in our group and she has had such a rough couple of years, we just wanted to do this diet with her while she is here. She has also given us some insight as she has begun this diet before.
We all need encouragement and accountability. I think doing this together will lend itself to greater success!!
We took a full week to prepare prior to starting the diet. We talked to people who had done it and we also began our food prep. We have enough protein for approximately 15 meals. This is essential to success as we have very busy lives and that is when we tend to dig in the cupboards for the cookies or crackers because "we just need a little something".
